Mid Year Review

In a blink of the eye, we are 6 months into 2011. I'm guessing it's a good time to review on my resolutions for the year.

i) Advance the practice of yoga to a higher level.
In progress.

ii) Pick up rollerblading
Still procrastinating...

iii) Pick up swimming
Still procrastinating...

iv) Go on a holiday with the girls
With only 6 months left and schedules to take into consideration, I seriously doubt the possibility of fulfilling this in 2011.

v) Go on a trip with my poly mates
Achieved! Pictures to be up soon. :)

vi) Go for parking remedial class
Still procrastinating...

vii) Read more books and be inspired
Only did one quarter of The Vibe. Gotta buck up!

viii) Eat fruits and veggies religiously.
In progress. :)

ix) Lay my hands on the luxurious British brand
Burberry Nova Check Tote is almost everywhere on the streets now. I dunno if I still want it.

Of Friends & Fries

5th Mar 2011

I was supposed to do some shopping alone in town before meeting Sat and Mav at Holland V. But instead, I spent the whole afternoon procrastinating. I finally then, decided to forgo the idea for good.

Left my place at 10pm to catch Sat at Dover. We took a bus to Holland V. and wandered around while waiting for Mav, who was rushing her assignment at The National Library.

Combed the streets and decided to settle down at Everything With Fries!

Nice cozy ambience at Everything With Fries

Ordered fries seasoned with Garlic & Herbs. Earl Grey tea actually goes very well with it! Sat ordered a few other stuff but i didn't have a chance to take pictures of them.

Shoestring Fries with Garlic & Herbs

It was almost 12am when Mav reached. Essays, projects and exams. Poor girl.

With Smurf - Thank you for footing the bills!

Friendly Smurf volunteered to help us with the camera... and went snapping away...

Mav & myself

After a whole lot of fries and people watching, we made our way to Hans for hot chocolate... :)

To hurt or be hurt?

I would rather be hurt than to hurt someone and live with regrets, for the rest of my life.

Reinforcing my 2011 resolutions

It's almost a month into 2011 and I have not been working on any of my resolutions. I'm therefore, penning them here to remind myself to get going... 11 months left for 2011.

i) Advance the practice of yoga to a higher level.

I'm thinking of giving hot yoga a shot. A hot yoga session cost as much as a basic facial but i would rather spend the money on hot yoga to attain overall wellness. I no longer sweat so much from jogging. It's high time to tap on external heat to help my body detoxify. A cheaper alternative would be sauna of cos. But I'm finding sauna facilities to be rather rare now.

ii) Pick up rollerblading
Time to tone my butt and thighs

iii) Pick up swimming

Guess its more of learning how to do frog style

iv) Go on a holiday with the girls
Aiming to venture further... maybe Japan... maybe Korea....

v) Go on a trip with my poly mates
Because of our busy schedule, our trip to Bali have been pending for months. I think we will eventually settle for some island in our neighboring countries. Unless those who are still studying can forsake class on Friday. Then again, the destination is not important. It's who you are with!

vi) Go for parking remedial class

What's the use of me having a driving license when i can't park a car properly. It's just means that i can't drive my family car out for shopping.

vii) Read more books and be inspired
Gosh, I'm taking forever to finish One Fifth Avenue.

viii) Eat fruits and veggies religiously.
2 serving of fruits and 2 serving of veggies is the way.

ix) Lay my hands on the luxurious British brand
Burberry Nova Check Tote.... you're so iconic. I want you!

That's all for now. I Hope i'm not being too ambitious here.

Weekends are like lotteries

Hurray! It's mid week already. As an undergraduate, weekends are just another day. But now, weekends are like lotteries...

A peek of me in the office

... or maybe better! Because, weekends are truly weekends now! No more mugging, no more reports, no more stinky lab coats, no more exams!!!

I know i will eventually get bored of this... but for now, i'm happy and content with what i have my lifestyle...

Goodnight world!

On how to screw a job interview

Q: So what happens after you screwed a job interview?

A: Feed yourself chocolate truffle and tea...

...to trigger inspirations and the release of endorphins.

Argghhh... Couldn't even answer the first question properly despite reading through related stuffs the night before... I swear that the 4 Ps which Marilyn taught me yesterday, were in my head when the interviewer popped the very first question but i went ahead to give some rubbish as my answer and the interviewer giggled... I feel so ashamed of myself.

Then, the interviewer asked if i would stay for the position, if they convert me to a permanent staff by any chance... I hesitated and told her that i believe so. The job offers good prospects, traveling opportunities and up to 3 month of bonus... and to add on, the work location is perfect for a lazy bum like me. Now, I don't even know why i was hesitating.

I must have felt so complacent that my mind went hay wired...

Nonetheless, I want to take this opportunity to say: "Thank You!" to Marilyn Yee Limin...

A big thank to you babe, for providing me with those references... Your resume and cover letter are really well written and they have been very useful and helpful to me... without your help, i don't think my resume will even look decent, not to mention good. i'm also very thankful for those encouragements and tips which you have been giving/ given me and i have to say this again: "You are seriously good!".

In the meanwhile, I will strive on... till the next call comes in... =)

TPE & HKG via Cathay Pacific Airways

Called up CX reservations to book our air tickets on Tuesday, the 17th. Going to TPE with one HKG stopover on the return leg!

The DBS/POSB promotion which Cathay Pacific is currently having... offer ends on the 31st...

Flying to TPE with Jetstar Airways (on the same date) cost around SGD $500 plus too... and hence, i took the promotion offered by the five stars airline. Why fly with a budget airline when afterall, the cost is not really that cheap?

Since, traveling to HKG on a separate occasion cost approximately SGD $400 plus for the air tickets itself, the bonus of the deal has got to be the HKG stopover on the return leg, with just an additional SGD $21 (HKG airport tax). In all, my tickets to TPE with one HKG stopover cost SGD $547.

Transport itinerary is outlined as follow:

22nd Sep 2010

SIN to TPE

26th Sep 2010
TPE to HKG

29th Sep 2010
HKG to SIN

Can anyone highlight some interesting places which i can visit in TPE and HKG?

=)
